What happens when you take a completely empty space and challenge a few truly amazing party vendors to an Iron Chef-style competition to show off their skills? You get a spontaneous and epic party showcasing the talents of Arizona Wedding Planners, Event Planners, Party Rentals and more!
Phoenix National Association of Catering and Events (Phoenix NACE) partnered with Classic Party Rentals and the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce to “Rock the Warehouse”, a networking event for catering and event vendors to make connections with business leaders from all over the valley for a fun evening.
The best part of the event is participating in the “White Room Challenge” – a fast-paced but fun rivalry where each team of participants has 30 minutes to decorate a table like we would for an event. The catch? We don’t know what we’re going to decorate with until we get there and draw numbers!
Team Apropos was a lively and energetic group of people I would love to see work together again in the future: Lori Apt of In Bloom, Brittany Treta of Crown Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort, Marissa Milton of The Saguaro of Scottsdale, Jennifer M. Cotsonas of Kool Party, Josh Lambert of Secret Door Shoppe and yours truly, Jo Ann M. Grant of Apropos Creations.
Each group was able to bring just a 5-gallon bucket of flowers and anything we could fit into one 18” x 18” x 24” box! Numbers were drawn to see who got different styles of tables and different styles of chairs and then there was a mad dash to collect linens, china, flatware, glassware and other accessories to set up!
Even with the special twist element that we had to incorporate into our design, our team came up with an elegant and fresh design that enabled us to be versatile no matter what chairs, tables, linens or china we got! Check out the pictures below for more!
It was truly a wonderful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed winning Third Place – we look forward to next year and winning First!
